| 80 km to the south of Tangier, at the edge of the Loukos wadi, this very charming city of blue and white houses, remains deeply marked by the Spanish occupation. It is in Larache, where he lived a long time, which Jean Genet rests. |
| Founded by the Muslim conquerors coming from Arabia in the VIIth century and strengthened in the end of the XVth century by the sovereigns of Fez, Larache was used as stopover to the Algerian and Turkish corsairs, and had to undergo the attacks of the Portuguese and the Spanish, who finally accepted it as a gift from the saadian sovereign in 1610.
