| 500 m to the south of the royal palace and the Meshouar square…it is one of the prestigious monuments of Meknes. |
Monument dating from the time of Moulay Ismail in the beginning of the XVIIIth century, it proposes a serial of rooms relatively exiguous around a central spacious room of 26m, 30 length/10m, 70 of large and 9m height. It was a place of foodstuffs storage. It contains 10 rooms of wells with ten Norias. In the past these wells used to feed the building as well as the Souani basin, large water reservoir constituting with this monument a unique entity. |
