| 80 km from Fez, small Berber village of 1 250 m high, which owes its name to a large piton rock (' Azrou' means rock). Its originality: high roofs of green tiles, which add an appealing and charming note. A situation privileged with a moderated climate, ski spots and the proximity of a cedar forest. It is also the principal market of the Semi-nomadic Beni Mguild Berber tribe. |
Azrou, presentation and visits - 3 To see: The artisan unit: with its ironwork workshop, its cedar or mahogany wood objects and its carpet workshop with geometrical drawings. The Berber Village: completely characteristic, a little away from the city, which is staged at the mountainside, with its small cob houses with flat roof; an amazing view conveys to the visitor to the Western exit of Azrou.
