After the creation of the province of Mauritania Tingitana...
Rome undertook a broad program of urban development on cities of indigenous creation (Tamuda, Tangier, Zilil, Banasa, Thamusida, Volubilis, Sala.) and created new small centres mainly of a military vocation. At that time Morocco knew a significant economic opening on the Mediterranean trade-circuits. In 285, the Roman administration withdrew from the southern part of the province (to the south of Loukkos) and preserving only two centres: Sala and Mogador. Starting from the Vth century, the
whole province is evacuated.
