| The Almohades |

| The Almohades dynasty had as an originating cell the village of Tinmel in High Western Atlas. |
It is the spiritual reformer Mahdi ibn Toumert who, since of 1125 A.C, starts to organize his opposition movement and begins his war against the Almoravides. From the mountain of the High Atlas the Almohades (the unifiers) were going to start under the aegis of the great conqueror Abd Al-Moumen Ibn Ali the conquest of Morocco starting from 1130 A.C. The ride lasted nearly seventeen years and finishes by the fall of the Almoravides dynasty and the capture of their capital Marrakesh in 1147 |
