| The reign of the Idrissides dynasty did not last a long time after the death of its founder. |
| The imposing but fragile kingdom will be divided between his two sons and their successors. Very quickly the dynasty weakens giving to the regional powers of the time, Fatimides of Ifriqiya and Omeyyades of Andalusia the occasion to exert their supervisions on the country. Towards the XIth century appears on the Moroccan scene Berber nomads from the Sanhadja region in the extreme south of the country. | and finished in 1069 A.C by the establishment of an authentic state with a powerful central authority with the city of Marrakesh as a capital. Following the chronic fights between the Muslim princes of the Andalusian provinces and the threat which Castillans and Aragons represented, the Almoravides, led by Youssef Ibn Tachafine, intervened in the Iberian Peninsula in 1086 A.C. Their offensive will have as a result the annexation of Andalusia to their empire. Thus a new era of close relations begins between Muslim Spain and the Maghreb. |
