The Museum of Contemporary art of Tangier is located in the old English district, in a prestigious villa built in 1890 to shelter the British consulate.

In 1986, it was converted into the house of Culture, then in 1990 into the Museum of Contemporary art.

The Museum of Contemporary art of Tangier presents numerous masterpieces made by a myriad of contemporary Moroccan artists belonging to various artistic schools. The museum also organizes temporary exposures devoted to national and foreign artists.

The museum includes six rooms each one represents a stage of the evolution of modern painting in Morocco.
