| This construction initially belonged in the middle of the XVIIIth century to two Jewish families... |
Then in 1760, the Sultan Sidi Mohammed Ben Abd Allah buys the building and gave it to the Swedish government, which made of it its first consulate in 1788. In 1871, the Spanish governor acquires the building to arrange it in a residence for nuns from the catholic mission, and build there a large church called the "Purisima" (the very pure). |
